See and Do

See and Do

Filey

Filey is a lovely, traditional seaside town. It's not big, it's not flash but if you want an old fashioned resort with crazy golf, sandy beach with donkey rides and fish and chips, this is the place for you.

Scarborough

Scarborough is a larger resort with lots of arcades, a small harbour that you can take boat trips from, a castle, theatre and sealife museum.

Bridlington

Bridlington lies 8 miles to the south of the Bay and is another lovely resort, with sandy beach, a harbour that you can take boat trips to Bempton cliffs from, plus a leisure centre with large fun pool.

Other things to do locally

Whatever you like to do on holiday, whether it's culture you are looking for, brisk exercise, a gentle stroll, shopping, or just building sandcastles on the beach, there's something to keep everyone happy here, both locally and further afield. You can use the cottage as a base to explore the Yorkshire coast and countryside, including the North York Moors National Park, James Herriot Country, York, Harrogate, Staithes and Whitby.

Whether you're a walker or interested in exploring the natural environment, Bumblebee makes a great place to stay. The site is situated within the Yorkshire Nature Triangle, an area with over 30 nature reserves, and both the Yorkshire Wolds Way and the Cleveland Way start in Filey. The southern tip of the North York Moors National Park is nearby and can easily be accessed for a day's walking. RSPB Bempton is less than 10 miles away and from here you can go on one of their boat tours to look at the nesting seabirds including puffins and guillemots and Spurn Point is less than an hour's drive.
